We really believe in offering you top quality eye care and taking our time to do it properly. Rest assured that if there are any problems, we will spot them. Firstly, you’ll be asked some questions about your overall eye health, family history and any changes in your vision since your last check-up.
You’ll then have a series of checks using the latest, advanced eye care technology. As well as diagnosing if you need help with your vision, we’ll check your eyes for signs of serious eye conditions, like glaucoma or macular degeneration
With certain eye conditions, the faster you act, the more you protect. That’s why we recommend OCT as part of your regular eye test in Perivale. It can help us detect sight-threatening issues up to 5 years before traditional testing methods, and many years before you notice any change in your vision yourself.
Optical Coherence Tomography technology enables us to see beyond the retinal surface into the tissue behind. This means we can spot abnormalities up to 5 years before a traditional test.
It can spot early signs of:
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Glaucoma Diabetes – by detecting Diabetic Retinopathy Hypertension
The sooner we detect them, the sooner we can help you treat them.
The images generated by the OCT are stored on your file so we can compare photos from year to year to spot even the smallest of changes in your eyes.
Once the tests have been done, you can discuss the findings with Jaimin and ask any questions you like. If you need help with your eyesight, you’ll be given a prescription for the lenses. Of course, we hope there won’t be any serious problems, but if there are, you can be sure we’ll discuss them with you clearly and sensitively.
Assuming that everything is OK, after the eye exam you’ll have a chance to sit down and chat with a member of our dispensing team about your options for eyewear, if a new prescription is required. Not everyone’s sight changes from year to year, so we’ll give you honest advice about this too.
After graduating from Cardiff University in 1997 Jaimin completed his pre-registration training in the Conquest Hospital, Sussex. Jaimin then spent 9 months working for a ‘big-chain’ high street Opticians which left him feeling disillusioned with the ‘conveyor belt’ system in operation. He decided to work for an independent practice for the following 4 years and preferred their patient-focused approach to healthcare.
From 2004 until this present day Jaimin has been working as an owner/optometrist of a community independent practice in Perivale. With a Professional Certificate in Glaucoma and 7 years experience in Moorfields Eye Hospital’s Glaucoma Clinic, Jaimin is extremely proficient at identifying early signs of glaucoma and monitoring the progression of the disease.
